POSITION: ECG Technician
UNIT: Diagnostic Imaging
STATUS: Temporary Full Time (approximately March 2024 - April 2025, may be extended or end sooner)
SALARY: $32.59 - $37.26
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The role of the ECG Tech is to provide quality and non-invasive diagnostic cardiac testing that includes Cardiac Stress Testing, ECG, Holter Set up and Scanning, Nuclear Medicine Stress testing etc. to clients with compromised cardio-respiratory status and related conditions.
HOURS:
Standard working hours are Monday to Friday 0800 to 1600, may vary from time to time based on the needs of the Department
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Must have certification/registration with the Ontario Society of Cardiology Technologists
- Preference will be given to those with relevant recent related experience within the past (2) years.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Preference will be given to those with experience in performing ECGs, Holter Monitors, Stress Testing, Ankle Pressure Measurements, and file management.
- Ability to operate/maintain equipment used for cardiac diagnostic testing.
- Proven ability to work independently, demonstrating a high level of initiative
- Ability to exercise good judgement and application of practical and theoretical knowledge
- Basic computer skills with the ability to operate Microsoft Office, Power Chart, MUSE, etc.
- Strong interpersonal verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Physical ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety
- Satisfactory attendance record
- Acceptable performance record that is aligned with STEGH values.
Successful candidates must provide evidence of having received a full primary series of a COVID-19 vaccine or combination of vaccines authorized by Health Canada, and having received the final dose 14 days before entering STEGH.
