The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Lead, Engineer Reliability, you will provide technical/engineering support to plant operations and maintenance to ensure safe and reliable plant operation. You will be responsible for improvement of area rotating equipment unplanned downtime, continuous improvement of rotating equipment reliability, and proactive PM plan.

Key Accountabilities:
Develop, review and maintain reliability programs for the bitumen production area of the plant with a focus on safety, cost reduction and reliability
Review and recommend predictive and preventative maintenance procedures and techniques
Ensure the reliability centered maintenance and risk-based Inspection methodologies are implemented and are part of the overall operations and maintenance activities
Manage plant and spare parts optimization
Develop, update and maintain equipment files, drawings, records and documentation
Provide day to day support for ensuring maximum reliability and uptime of equipment; establish reliability goals and measure effectiveness of reliability programs and ensure the equipment reliability and availability is measured and reported every month
Lead and support root cause failure analysis of key equipment/process failures
Conduct regular audits to the preventive/predictive monitoring programs

Job location: Albian Oil Sands, Fort McMurray, Alberta
Shift schedule: 4x3, Monday - Thursday, 10hr/days

Skills & Qualifications:
Completion of a mechanical engineering degree and registration or eligibility to register as a P.Eng with APEGA
Previous experience in an industrial plant setting and ability and willingness for regular field inspections
Well-developed communication, interpersonal and organizational skills

Familiarity with:
FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), Root Cause Analysis, RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance), condition based maintenance, oil and lube programs and RBI (Risk Based Inspection) practices
Applicable WCB and Alberta OH&S rules and regulations
Overhauling and maintaining industrial equipment
