We are seeking to hire a 2nd or 3rd year Electrical Apprentice to join our Team!
This position is open to anyone who has Apprenticeship in-progress.
BAS Electrical Installations Inc. performs electrical installation work, specializing in automation-related sites. Our head office is located in Hamilton, ON, but this role will mainly work out of our Toronto job sites.
Responsibilities for Electrician
- Install, maintain, and enhance electrical systems and components, including conduit, wiring, lighting and devices
- Inspect, test, and diagnose issues with electrical systems and components
- Perform all work in a manner that meets and follows electrical codes, blueprints, and standards
- Test electrical systems and components to ensure proper functioning
- Complete required documentation of repairs and service information
- Ensure adequate inventory of necessary supplies and parts
- Calibrate equipment to provided specifications
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components
- Troubleshoot problems and make timely repairs
- Work to be performed within the guidelines of the “Ontario Electrical Code”
- Pinpoint problems using a range of testing devices.
- Safely use various hand and power tools.
- Plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Be involved in “Continuous Improvement Projects”.
- Working & troubleshooting PLC’s and AC/DC drives
- Self-motivated.
- Able to work in a “team” environment.
- Maintain accurate records & write/print legibly.
- Perform repairs on equipment.
- Identify work order priorities for shutdowns.
- Strong interpersonal & organizational skills.
- Strong team leadership skills.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Good computer skills required.
Skills
- Good knowledge of PLC wiring and troubleshooting.
- Good communication skills in English (verbal & written)
- Working knowledge of Hydronics, Pneumatics and Air Handling Systems
- Able to work at heights using ladders and scissor lifts.
- Good mechanical trouble shooting skills.
Qualifications for Electrical Apprentice:
- Enrollment in an electrician program at a technical or trade school preferred
- 2-3 years of electrical experience
- Valid driver's license in province of practice
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to bend, climb, squat, reach, and kneel
- Comfortable reading and understanding electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
- Working knowledge of electrical theory, and the associated principles, materials, and equipment
- Demonstrated ability to operate hand and power tools associated with electrical work
- Ability to calculate basic mathematical problems
- Willing to work overtime
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $4,506.67-$5,200.00 per month
