We are actively seeking an experienced full time Electrician to join our Cold Lake Thermal team. Reporting to the Sr. Foreman, E&I/DCS, this position will support our Lindbergh asset. Interested candidates will reside in the Cold Lake/Bonnyville area or will be open to relocation.
Responsibilities:
Conduct work in a manner prescribed by Strathcona’s Environmental Health and Safety Work Practices.
Identify and assess opportunities to improve safety, reliability, and maintenance costs.
Troubleshooting and repairs to facility and field electrical systems and Instrumentation equipment to support production in Conventional Heavy operations.
Execution of electrical and instrumentation PM work orders.
Repairs/calibration of electrical, instrumentation, and measurement devices.
Record and report equipment problems/calibrations and repair records.
Utilize various software applications for calibration and documentation of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
Support in electrical and instrumentation construction tasks.
Use Asset Management system to track work orders, parts necessary to make repairs, improve information and preventative maintenance activities.
Automation activities ranging from VFD programming, SCADA, communications, device calibrations and process troubleshooting.
Electrical related activities will include ESP VSD surface panel installation, set-up and troubleshooting low, mid and/or high voltage system troubleshooting and repairs.
Respond to after hours' maintenance/troubleshooting calls as required.
Qualifications Include:
Journeyperson Inter-provincial Electrician Certificate
Journeyperson Inter-provincial Instrumentation Certificate or completion of Instrumentation Engineering technology diploma would be a definite asset
8 years or greater experience in the oil and gas industry or other industrial maintenance experience
AB PLC hardware and software maintenance experience
AB PLC programming experience to support small projects and MOC requirements
Red Seal Certification
Strong analytical, organizational and communications skills
Strong team player with the ability to work independently
Ability to interact and supervise contract support staff
Electrical standards understanding (CEC)
Measurement standards understanding (Directive 17, EPAP and MARP)
Valid Class 5 Driver’s license
