Career Opportunity:

A Provincial Red Seal Licensed Industrial Electrician working as part of the maintenance team in our safe and clean manufacturing facility. The successful candidate is responsible for performing maintenance and repair of paper board manufacturing equipment in a unionized environment.

To be considered for this position, you must be able to work, as part of a team, 8 hours per day with a weekly rotating shift; midnights 11:00 pm – 7:00 am; afternoons 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm and days 7:00 am – 3:00 pm You must also be able to tolerate warm temperatures in the summer months.

All successful applicants must be able to provide a satisfactory criminal background check, pre-employment medical, and a clear drug test.

Job Duties:

• Troubleshoots problems on plant equipment and facilitates and determines maintenance requirements. Ability to go to the root cause of problems. Perform proper follow-up on repairs to implement long-term solutions.
• Responds to breakdowns on plant equipment and in the building. Ability to determine the need for temporary solutions or permanent solutions based on time constraints given by production.
• Maintains preventative maintenance programs and ensures regular checks.
• Assists with the installation of plant equipment and occasionally assists in fabrication.
• Handles heavy equipment safely.
• Any repairs as assigned by the Reliability Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Coordinator.

What you need to work at WestRock:

• High school diploma
• Provincial Red Seal Certified Industrial Electrician
• Minimum 5 years as a licensed Industrial Electrician
• Technical knowledge including auto cad.
• Assets include proven experience with troubleshooting Allen Bradley and Delta V Control Logix PLC’s; HMI touch screens; exposure to AC and DC drives in fan, pump, and conveyor applications; and set up of AC and DC.
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Positive, can-do attitude/initiative
• Able to work shifts.
