The Colchester East Hants Health Centre (CEHHC) is seeking full and part-time Emergency Physicians to join their team. Locum opportunities are also immediately available. CEHHC is a beautiful new facility with ample natural light and friendly staff. This Level 2 emergency department serves approximately 32,000 patients annually, across the life spectrum. Emergency practice is supported by a variety of specialties including internal medicine, surgery, psychiatry, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, urology, and anesthesia. CT scanning is available 24/7 as is 24/7 in house respiratory therapy. Potential for collaboration with nurse practitioners with established practice supporting the emergency department. CEHHC boasts the latest in bedside technology including bedside ultrasound, video laryngoscopy, and a newly completed simulation lab. Opportunities for mixed practice (ie hospitalist/EM, family practice /EM) are also available. Truro is 45 minutes from the Halifax Stanfield international Airport, and one hour from Halifax. It hosts one of the largest civic parks in Canada featuring extensive trails for skiing, hiking and mountain biking.
Responsibilities
-duties include full scope of practice as an emergency physician providing care to patients within the eastern zone
-the physician will be responsible to the zone department head for Emergency Medicine for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice, and will operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority

Qualifications
- all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- all family physicians must have membership with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- all specialists must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
- membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
-ATLS, ACLS, PALS and advanced Airway training are required.
