Position: Engineer – Development & Projects

Role Overview:
The Development and Projects Engineer at Enfinite is a key player in supporting the project teams through technical reviews, permitting processes, and equipment specification. This role requires a proactive approach to managing project risks and enhancing efficiency, while also contributing to the preparation of key project documents and collaboration with various internal teams.
Core Responsibilities:
- Project Engineering & Design Review
- Lead facility design for new projects
- Review technical documents and make design contributions
- Support the permitting and equipment specification processes
- Lead the interconnection process for select projects
- Documentation & Technical Support
- Lead change management processes for projects
- Collaborate on RFQs, RFPs, and auctions with internal teams
- Prepare drawings, execute MOC processes, and support monthly and quarterly reporting as required
- Offer technical support and develop technical documentation and training materials where required
- Risk Assessment & Process Optimization
- Collaborate with operations and management teams for risk assessments and value-based decisions
- Identify process improvements and efficiency gains across various projects and departments
- Procurement & Negotiations
- Support equipment procurement processes and service agreement negotiations
- Prepare technical proposal bid packages
- Interdepartmental Collaboration
- Work closely with various teams for project development, acquisition, design, and construction support

Qualifications and experience:
- A recognized Electrical or Mechanical (preference to Electrical) Engineering degree and registered, at a minimum, as an Engineer in Training with APEGA. Minimum 2-3 years of design or equivalent experience
- Experience and proficiency in AutoCAD/MicroStation and MS Office
- Ability to read and review single-line, three-line, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules and other electrical shop drawings
- Experience working on power generation projects and the AESO connection process is considered an asset
- Experience working with different relays and their software including: Schneider Electric, GE Multilin, SEL, and Woodware is considered an asset
- Experience working with data concentrators, switches, PLC’s, RTU’s, SCADA and HMI is considered an asset
- Knowledge of CSA, NEC, IEEE, NERC, EIC, ISO & NETA codes, standards and specifications is considered an asset
- Experience working with CDEGS, PSSE and/or ETAP is considered an asset
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean drivers abstract
- Strong organization, time management and detail-oriented skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability and willingness to learn new concepts and techniques
- Strong commitment to safety and the environment
