The Opportunity
As a valued member of our Engineering team, you will be responsible for the planning, design and construction of substation projects. This includes engineering aspects related to the procurement and installation of substation equipment, as well as the design of associated protection, control, and automation systems. Your work will involve the development of electrical schematics, protection panel layouts, substation layouts, equipment specifications, and tender documents.
Projects primarily include substation refurbishment and modernization, load growth, in-service equipment failures, and capital maintenance. In addition to project-specific responsibilities, you will play a key role in developing annual and five-year capital budget plans, capital budget applications, and asset management strategies. This diverse role will play a crucial part in ensuring the success of our Engineering team and the effective delivery of projects.
Your qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical). You must be registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with PEGNL. You must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle driver's license. You are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and are familiar with AutoCAD. Previous construction and utility experience is considered an asset.
You are a highly motivated team player with a strong commitment to safety, environment and customer service, with effective interpersonal and communication skills. You have strong planning, analytical and organizational skills and demonstrate excellent work ethic with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
