Job Description
The Transportation Division of AECOM in Calgary is seeking an energetic Civil Engineering Intern for May 2024, for a 4-month term.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Demonstrate strong technical background and interest in design of bridges and transportation structures.
+ Learn and assist with building analytic and design skills
+ Assist with the preparation of preliminary and detailed design for design of bridges, culverts, retaining walls and other transportation structures under the guidance of an experienced Engineer
+ Help create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the guidance of an experienced Engineer
+ Collecting and analyzing data
+ Using computer software as a tool for solving engineering problems
+ Coordinating design efforts with other disciplines
+ Assist in communicating with clients and attend project meetings
+ Performing work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision
+ Learn how to maintain high quality deliverables
+ Other duties as assigned, including project deliverables, reports, specifications, coordination
+ Ability to work as part of a team
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
+ Candidates must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
Preferred Qualifications :
+ Interest in Roads and Bridges
+ Previous Bridge Engineering Co-op
+ Strong interpersonal, negotiating, problem-solving and analytical skills
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Structural Modeling Experience
+ Field Experience

+ Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position typically is $18.13- $30.81
