Environmental Systems Coordinator

Job Description

A great opportunity exists for an experienced Environmental Systems Coordinator to support our team and ensure our facility remains compliant. This position works closely with the Environmental Manager to ensure compliance with regulatory approvals, permit requirements, systems management (internal scheduling, tracking, training, sampling, inspections, and reporting). You will assist in hazardous material movements in compliance with Cross Border Regulations and Hazardous Waste Regulations. You will support the effective functioning of the Environmental Management System (EMS) and Health and Safety procedures. You will evaluate health and safety hazards and play a key roll in strategies to prevent, control and eliminate accidents and occupational injuries. You will inspect the workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with organizational and governmental requirements/ systems. You will engage with a variety of departments and assist them to integrate requirements into operating practices and procedures and promoting a positive safety culture.

Qualifications and Experience

· 2-3 years direct experience in an Environmental OR Health and Safety position OR equivalent

· Working knowledge of Environmental, Health, Safety legislation

· Knowledge of ISO Systems, ex. ISO 14001

· Minimum - College Diploma in Environment Studies/Management/Assessment, OR equivalent experience

· Drivers License

· Valid Passport

Salary/Hours

· Standard five (5) days per week, 8:30am – 5:00pm

· Overtime maybe required
