Equipment Operator

We are a moderate sized Fruit Farm located in the Blue Mountains, ON. We grow apples, grapes and pears on several different locations.

We are looking for an Equipment Operator to join our farm operation. You will be responsible for operating various agricultural equipment and vehicles. As well it will require you to perform maintenance and basic repairs on various pieces of both agricultural and construction equipment. This job will be primarily outdoor as well as some shop time.

Responsibilities:

· Operate various tractors, forklifts, sprayers, mowers, bin carriers, excavator, trenching machine etc. and other motor vehicles and implements.

· Perform routine vehicle and equipment maintenance and document

· Generic farm jobs, small on farm construction projects, drainage repair, irrigation installation and repair, loading and hauling empty and full bins of apples.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience operating Equipment
• Excavator Operation
• Knowledge of shop equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Deadline and detail-oriented
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Self-starting, an eye for things that need attention
• DZ license is a plus

This job does require weekend work certain times of year, primarily spring rush/planting and fall harvest. Summer and winter are more moderately paced.

Hourly Wage or Salary are both options, remuneration is dependent on experience and abilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $22.00-$32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 55 per week
