Equipment Operator / General Labourer - Full Time

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and energetic individuals to enhance our team in the role of GENERAL LABOURER/EQUIPMENT OPERATOR - FULL TIME.

• Once you’re past the required 70-day probation, you can apply for a plant floater position that has a starting rate of $32.74!
• Starting rate is $21.69.
• Average annual salaries/gross earnings in 2021 for Morbern production employees = $65,000
• The longer you’re with us, you can apply into other jobs and experience pay progression wage increases that bring your hourly rate up to a range of $29.00 - $33.07, depending on the job you apply into! Note these amounts take into account base rate + shift premium.
• After probation there is an increase due to an additional $0.22 – $0.88 an hour as a supplement depending on the job you are doing!
• Alternate types of positions to apply onto, with shifts that allows flexibility for what works best in your life!
• Once eligible to apply to 8-hour shifts = stability of working no weekends/only Monday to Fridays on a 3-week rotation of days/evenings/overnights
• Once eligible to apply to 8-hour or 12-hour shifts = shift premium when working during your rotation for shifts that fall on overnights of an additional $0.63/hour!
• Once eligible to apply to 12-hour shifts = regularly scheduled Saturdays & Sundays worked during your 4-week rotation are paid at time and a half!
• Opportunity for overtime, including time and a half on Saturdays, double time on Sundays!
• Gainshare program where employees get monthly payouts of up to a maximum of $350/month – when production objectives are met!
• Up to a $400 Attendance bonus paid out at end of calendar year!

• Employer contributed RRSP after 1 calendar year of employment!

Essential Job Duties:

• Work on the production line with consistent speed and accuracy; Performing manual tasks in the production process.
• Ensure that production requirements and standards are met consistently.
• Make every effort to increase productivity and efficiency without compromising quality.
• Operate machinery correctly and maintain it with care.
• Work cooperatively with the production team to meet quotas and goals.
• Observe all safety guidelines and report safety concerns to management, including Morbern’s COVID-19 safety protocols.
• Follow all written and verbal instructions.
• Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude.
• Able to work overtime as needed, including nights and weekends.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years’ experience working in industrial production is strongly preferred but not required.
• Computer literacy; Basic math and measurement skills
• Mechanically inclined
• Physically capable of manual labour that includes lifting, bending, and reaching.
• Able to work rotational shifts (days, evenings, overnights, and weekends). Shifts are 8 hours and 12 hours in length depending on the department.
• Must have a good work ethic, be punctual and have a reliable attendance record.
