Employment Opportunity – Seasonal Positions
EQUIPMENT OPERATOR I
Mackenzie County is currently inviting applications for two (2) Equipment Operator
seasonal positions. The primary location for these positions will be in La Crete,
however the individual may be required to work in other areas of the municipality as per
operational requirements. This is a full-time unionized position with a 40 hour work
week (8 hours per day) Monday to Friday.
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the successful applicant will be
responsible for:
- Manual labour (i.e. shoveling dirt);
- Maintenance and repair of signs, culverts, etc.;
- Responsible for safe loading and moving of equipment;
- The safe operation and minor maintenance of County equipment;
- Assisting with crack-filling, pavement patching, road construction;
- Some weekend or holiday work may be required; (Saturday & Sunday)
- Other duties as required.
Requirements for this position are:
- Valid Class 5 drivers’ license; Class 1 or 3 an asset;
- Moderate physical strength and stamina;
- Mechanical knowledge of equipment would be an asset;
- Knowledge of road maintenance;
- Adequate verbal and written communication skills;
- Evidence of successfully passing a police Criminal Record Check.
Wage range: $28.46/hour – $36.04/hour
