Our Innisfail Agro Site is looking for temporary full-time Equipment Operators(Loader Operator, Floater Operator, and a Floater/Sprayer Operator) to join our team.
Term: Temporary contract for approximately 2 months.
Full-time: 40 hours/week.
Availability requirements: Weekdays and weekends- mornings, afternoons and evenings
Reporting to the Agro Site Supervisor, the Equipment Operator would be responsible to ensure timely delivery of the assigned work. This may include but not limited to operating a Floater, Sprayer or Loader. This includes safe operation, preparation and inspection of the equipment. Daily maintenance schedules will be followed to ensure the longevity of the assets owned by Central Alberta Co-op. Due diligence is required to ensure product is applied in the correct location and accurate paperwork is processed in a timely manner. Other duties as assigned.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Come to work with a positive, professional approach and attitude and be a team player. Be dependable for all scheduled shifts. Adhere to policies and procedures and ensure safe use of PPE and environment regulations are followed. Adhere to standard operating procedures and safety protocols and ensures the administration of company policies, AWSA regulations, and obtain a WHMIS and TDG certificate. Ensure that all equipment is operated in a safe and responsible manner and complete training for such equipment when required. Required eLearning.
- Analyze current and future agricultural trends and service needs and suggest strategies to create opportunities. Actively pursue and encourage cross marketing of products and services with growers. Operate the equipment in a safe and responsible manner including daily safety checks and maintenance where required. Perform safe and efficient loading and unloading of product. Ensure safe operation of equipment and procedures for the position are followed. Ensure that documentation is completed and handed in daily to supervisor. Apply product in a professional, efficient manner, also clean the applicator inside and outside oncer per week or more often as required.
- Accept that hours of work will be dependent on the customers' needs and at certain times throughout the year, work hours may include early mornings, late evenings, Saturdays and Sundays. Ensure efficiency when operating equipment to ensure schedules are followed, working extended hours when necessary. Coordinate with the Agro Delivery Drivers to ensure that procedures are followed when delivering product to the floater.
- Develop and maintain effective business relationships with current and potential customer base. Recommend products and services to meet and exceed customer needs. Ensure accuracy in application of product including correct field, rate, and product to ensure customer expectations are met. Ensure each guest is pleasantly greeted and handle special customer requests as they arise. Report any incidents to supervisor immediately. Ensure effective communication with guests as well as Agro Site Supervisor, Delivery Drivers and location.
- Ensure all duties are completed in a timely, efficient manner and prioritize duties to ensure those of greatest or most immediate importance are completed first. Work with the location team to ensure timely delivery of products and services and coordinate with supervisor as required. Coordinating with other team members and team leader on tasks and responsibilities to ensure customer satisfaction.
Qualifications :
- High School diploma is preferred,
- Must provide an acceptable driver's abstract upon hire,
- Class 3 Driver's License is preferred,
- Applicators licence required for Sprayer operator,
- Experience in customer service is preferred,
- Knowledge of Central Alberta and surrounding area to successfully navigate is an asset,
- Experience with Viper GPS systems is an asset,
- Wheel loader and Floater operator experience is an asset,
- Working knowledge of Ag. Equipment is a requirement.
