As an Ergonomics Intern, you will be responsible for carrying out an ergonomic intervention at a workstation. We have several key projects related to the improvement of working conditions at the moment, with a particular focus on the Marrettes MM001 to MM017 workstations as well as some manual packaging workstations. You will be required to carry out an in-depth analysis of the challenges of the workstation propose avenues for improvement, and finally implement them.

Your responsibilities

  • The intern will be responsible for revising the existing PBI by incorporating the latest evaluated ergonomic scores.
  • Ensuring that the list of workstations is complete, especially when adding or modifying positions.
  • Implementation of two specific development projects to improve the ergonomics of packaging workstations.
  • Use of ergonomic recommendations to optimize the efficiency of operations while minimizing the risk of injury and fatigue.
  • Proactive assistance with urgent ergonomic issues whenever possible, including temporary assignments or day-to-day issues (discomfort or other quick fixes).
  • Collaborate with operations teams to quickly resolve ergonomic issues and minimize interruptions in production.
  • Support for current projects e.g. Tilter, Gaylord marettes, etc.
  • Contribution to HSE committee discussions by sharing knowledge and ideas related to ergonomics.

Your background

  • Student in the second year of the Master’s degree in ergonomics.
  • Ability to communicate in French and English.
  • English is required as this position will service internal and external clients from other provinces.
  • Knowledge of the industrial environment, an asset.
