Job Description: Excavator Operator
Location: Brooks, AB

Currently, we are excited to work on the Wellings of Brooks project, which includes 17 single-story townhouses and a clubhouse amenity, designed to enhance the living experience in Brooks, AB.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Excavator Operator to join our team in Brooks, AB, for our Alberta projects, particularly the Wellings of Brooks. The ideal candidate will be a production-focused individual with a strong background in operating heavy machinery, specifically excavators, to excavate foundations and perform other soil-related tasks efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate excavator and other heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner to excavate foundations for townhouses and the clubhouse amenity.
- Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and other written instructions and diagrams to perform task at hand.
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, and clean, lubricate, and refill equipment as necessary.
- Work with ground personnel on excavation and installation.
- Ensure trenches are excavated to the proper depth/grade and slope.
- Responsible for placement of water, storm, and sanitary sewer pipe in the excavation.
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
- Communicate with project managers and crew members to ensure work is performed efficiently and effectively.
- Report any issues or malfunctions to supervisors immediately.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an excavator operator, with a minimum of 5 in the construction industry.
- Valid operator certifications and a clean driving record.
- Strong understanding of excavation procedures, soil types, and foundation laying.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and diagrams.
- Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing and equipment.
- Excellent coordination and mechanical skills.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and adhere to tight schedules.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in heavy equipment operation is a plus.
