Job description

We are a start-up Restaurant-Wine bar in Peace River, AB, in search for our executive Chef. We aspire in bringing to Peace River a totally new and exciting dining experience. If you are ambitious, creative and passionate, come join us and grow with us.

Under guidance of the GM & Corporate Management Team, the Culinary Manager is responsible for all aspects of leading and directing kitchen management and operations to achieve maximum profitability and guest satisfaction through the effective management and operations to achieve maximum profitability and guest satisfaction through the effective management and production of top quality cuisine, all kitchen products, personnel and related kitchen areas. The Culinary Manager must have excellent culinary skills and be able to handle simultaneous food production and great versatility with deep familiarity with cooking techniques.

The Culinary Manager is challenged with ensuring that all company standards, applicable regulations are upheld and is fully accountable for overall food quality, taste, nutrition, cost, presentation, safety, sanitation requirements and that employee relations and guidance are not only met but exceeded with the support of the GM. Requirements:

· Proven kitchen manager experience in a fast paced environment

· Exceptional culinary, management and leadership skills, creating positive employee experiences

· Alberta Advanced Food Safety certification

· Extensive knowledge of OH & S, food handling procedures with regards to Capital/Alberta Health standards

· Healthy and interactive personality with a passion for people, communication & guest service

· Ability to prioritize, multi-task and be highly organized with a keen attention to detail

· Ability to remain positive physically and mentally under pressure

· Ability to identify, motivate, lead and work effectively with customers and team members needs

· Maintain the highest level of professionalism, courtesy and respect to all guests and team members and communicate effectively with employees when coaching and giving constructive feedback

· Promote and maintain a positive and motivated work ethic, attitude and enthusiasm

· Flexible to work a variety of shifts that include weekends and Holiday hours

· Strong knowledge of industry

· Strong technical ability to use computer systems for inventory, ordering, food cost, scheduling and training
