Brandon Riverbank Inc. is seeking an Executive Director
Brandon Riverbank Inc. is a non-profit, charitable organization established in 1995. Brandon Riverbank Inc. embarked on the long-term process of developing the Assiniboine River Corridor to be a gathering place connecting people with nature.
The Riverbank has become Brandon’s ‘central park’ providing a serene and beautiful place for families to enjoy and pursue a healthy lifestyle.
The Executive Director is the key management leader of Brandon Riverbank Inc. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and strategic plans of the organization. Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. The position is full-time and reports directly to the Board of Directors.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Board Governance : Works with the board to fulfill the organization’s Mission/Master Plan
- Responsible for leading Riverbank Inc. in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s Mission/Master Plan as defined by the Board of Directors.
- Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions.
2) Financial Performance and Viability : Develop resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization.
- Responsible for fundraising , searching out, applying for all applicable grants, and developing other revenues necessary to support Riverbank’s Mission/Master Plan.
- Responsible for the fiscal integrity of Brandon Riverbank Inc., including submission to the Board of a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statement, which accurately reflects the financial condition of the organization.
- Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensuring maximum resource utilization and maintenance of the organizations in a positive financial position.
3) Organization Mission and Strategy: Works with board and staff to ensure that the
Mission/Master Plan is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning, and community outreach.
- Responsible for implementation of all Riverbank’s programs that carry out the organization’s Mission/Master Plan.
- Responsible for strategic planning to ensure that Brandon Riverbank Inc. can successfully fulfill its Mission/Master Plan.
- Responsible for the enhancement of Riverbank’s image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professionals , various
Governments, and private organizations.
4) Organization Operations : Oversees and implements appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are appropriate.
- Responsible for all human resources functions.
- Responsible and effective administration of Riverbank operations.
- Responsible for signing all notes, agreements, and other instruments made and entered into on behalf of the organization.
- Responsible for overseeing Tourism Services on behalf of the City of Brandon.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or a combination of education and experience related to the role.
- A minimum of five years’ experience with project management, program planning/development, operational management, human resources and financial administration.
- Budget preparation, analysis, decision-making, and reporting.
- A history of successfully generating new revenue streams and improving financial results.
- Active fundraising experience. Excellent donor relations skills and understanding of the funding community.
- Solid organizational abilities, including planning, delegating, program development, and task facilitation.
- High-level strategic thinking and planning. Able to establish relationships and communicate the organization’s strategic future and mission to the staff, board, various levels of Government, volunteers, donors, and the overall community.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong public speaking ability.
- Strong work ethic with a high degree of energy.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft, Office 365 (word, Excel).
This position offers a salary range of $70,000-$90,000 plus a competitive benefits package.
