DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan the manufacturing lifecycle of the Fabrication Shop projects with input from the manufacturing team & subject matter experts
Conduct risk assessments on the execution of the work with shop team members & include risk mitigating steps into manufacturing plans
Evaluate project activities throughout lifecycle, including the allocation of adequate resources, scheduling, documentation, budget, & other factors necessary for success
Plan project timelines, milestones, deliverables, & micro-deliverables using the appropriate software tools &// methods
Produce regular reports on the progress & quality of projects (e.g., schedule compliance, planning progress, workbook status, cost performance on planned vs actual)
Lead manufacturing project post-mortems to identify areas for improvement; make recommendations & incorporate actions into future packages
Coordination of third-party contractors required to successfully complete projects (e.g., third party NDT, manufactured parts, coatings, / specialty processes)
Purchase items required to complete projects in a timely fashion & source out comparable components in the event of supply issues
Final Inspection & sign off of Fabrication Shop projects prior to shipping & preparation of client turnover package
Develop Inspection Test Plan (ITPs) as they relate to fabrication of projects
Schedule / coordinate fabrication equipment repairs/maintenance & calibration as required
Monitor & oversee the purchasing of materials & develop min/max quantities for stock of shop consumables
Review shop drawings & work with the Engineering Department to identify potential problems & issue change orders
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Solid understanding of supply chain/purchasing process
3-5 years of direct work experience in a manufacturing planning role
Drawing & blueprint interpretation skills required
Global Shop experience considered an asset
