Facility Attendant - Part Time Varied Hours

Starting Wage - $19.64

The Facility Attendant performs a variety of general and specific duties in the provision of security and janitorial services for all facilities owned by the Town of Sylvan Lake. The position exercises judgment and initiative while demonstrates strong customer service.

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:

Ø Perform safety and security for the facilities including unlocking, securing and locking the facility

Ø Provide excellent customer service through effective communication with rental groups of the rules and assistance with the set up and take down of equipment such as tables, chairs, sports nets and goals and other items

Ø Successfully resolve on-site rental group and patron complaints

Ø Perform quality janitorial work throughout the facility, clean up as required during the shift of all areas of the facility including washrooms, and waste removal

Ø Maintain outdoor areas including clearing snow, debris and maintenance of grass

Ø Ensuring all Health and Safety guidelines and safe work practices are followed

Ø Maintain appropriate check lists and records with respect to duties, tasks, safety and rentals

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Ø Grade 12 graduation (or equivalent)

Ø A valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License

Ø First Aid/CPR

Ø RCMP Based Criminal Record Check

Ø Must work effectively with limited supervision

Ø Adaptable and able to communicate positively and effectively with customers, patrons, co-workers and supervisors

Ø Ability to lift and move heavy items

Ø Willingness and ability to work flexible hours (evenings and weekends)

Ø Must be 18 years of age or older to work licensed events
