We are a 4th generation family farm located NW of Medicine Hat. Our focus is growing field crop and livestock. The working conditions can vary depending on the time of year and the weather, also the hours can be long in our busy spring and fall seasons but also very rewarding when the crops are all planted or harvested. Supper meals are provided at seeding and harvest, and we take Sundays off. Benefits, transport, and housing may be provided after 3 months of positive employment.

Job Description:

As a Farm Production Assistant your main duties will include but not limited to assisting in the day-to-day operation of a grain and livestock farm. These tasks will vary depending on the season some examples are maintenance of equipment and buildings, operating various pieces of farm equipment depending on training and experience (tractors, trucks, sprayers, semi’s, combines), working with cattle (feeding, calving, fencing, haying, corral maintenance), yard maintenance, shoveling bins, loading trucks, hauling grain. Work hours are normally 7:00am to 5:00pm in the summer months and 8:00am to 5:00pm in the winter months unless in the busy seasons then hours will be longer. Guaranteed 40hrs per week.

Requirements and Qualifications:

We are looking for someone who can work as part of a team and can communicate with that team. Have experience operating and maintaining equipment a asset. Must speak, read, and write English. Have a valid class 5 drivers licence or a class 1 would be an asset. Be able to provide a criminal record check and drivers abstract at interview.
