Feed Truck Driver

Term: Permanent, Full-Time – Overtime after 40 Hours

Dispatch Time: Varies

Pay: $23.55ph

Address: 3356 County Rd. 27, Lyn, ON K0E 1M0

Routes: Ontario & Quebec border

Territory: Local deliveries only- Belleville to Quebec Border

We are looking for a Feed Truck Driver/Operator to make feed deliveries to our poultry farms. The ideal candidate has a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Works well independently and is confident in their driving/operating ability. As the Delivery Driver, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of our feed to our multiple farm locations in Ontario and Quebec. Preference will be given to drivers with agricultural experience. This role will suit someone who doesn’t want to be desk bound and enjoys being an integral member of a team to produce quality food for Canadians.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Deliver bulk feed to our multiple farm locations.
  • Safely load and unload feed from truck • Collaborate with plant dispatch team to ensure on-time delivery of feed.
  • Abide by and observe all safety procedures and Company policies.
  • Assist in identifying maintenance concerns and service requirements of vehicles in the fleet.
  • Utilize electronic logging device in accordance with Ministries Hour of Service legislation.
  • Follow our farm protocols and programs (workplace safety, security, animal welfare, food safety, on-farm biosecurity)
  • Other farm duties as requested.

Work Environment:

  • Driving on the 401 and various county roads
  • Physical activity in a farm environment such as pushing and pulling, crouching, bending, reaching, as well as some climbing and working at heights.
  • Work can be noisy, odorous, cold, hot, humid, and dusty.
  • Occasional lifting of equipment up to 40 kg.
  • Local deliveries only- Belleville to Quebec Border

Requirements:

· Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

· Experience operating equipment.

· Industrious and able to work with minimal supervision.

· Able to perform physical tasks that require strength, coordination, dexterity, and lifting of objects.

· Demonstrates a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn new skills • Able to show up to work on time and ready to work. Willing to work until the task is complete, which can require longer hours.

· Must have flexibility in scheduling.

· Communication skills – written and oral

· Comfortable around farm animals. Able to follow animal welfare standards.

· Ability to climb trucks using proper safety equipment.

Work Experience and Education Requirements:

· Minimum of 2 years (AZ) driving experience.

· Clean Abstract and CVOR

· Delivery experience in agriculture is an asset.

· Experience with agriculture or farm animals is considered an asset.
