Job Title: Festival Coordinator - Antigonight Art After Dark Festival

Start date: May, 2024 End date: October 2024

Salary: $6,000 (300 hours total)

Location: People’s Place Library Office/Bistro, Program Locations

Hours:
● Flexible- part-time leading to full-time as festival approaches
● Some weekends and evenings will be required throughout the summer
● Must be available SEPTEMBER 12-15th.

Job Description:
Antigonish Culture Alive (ACA) and ASAP Artist-Run Centre are hiring a Festival Coordinator to oversee all aspects of planning and coordination of the 15th annual Antigonight Festival, an interactive night-time arts festival. The Festival Coordinator will work with the Artistic Director, Antigonight sub-committee, and supervise a small team of contracted summer positions (2-4 people) to create a participatory visual and performing arts festival, running September 13-14th, 2024.

This position is ideal for a highly motivated, organised, and self-directed individual who enjoys working in teams, community engagement, event planning, and collaborating with artists and local groups. Interest or experience in the arts is essential and must be included in your cover letter. The Festival Coordinator should also be confident in communicating (written and in-person) with the public, municipal staff, and artists as a leader and representative of a charitable organization. Applicants should understand the nature of non-profit organizations and be willing to represent the organization in a professional and friendly manner. The applicant is expected to complete and delegate tasks in a timely, self-directed manner, as determined by themselves and the Antigonight team. Applicants must also own a computer and have comfort with technology. The successful applicant will be asked to provide an up-to-date driver’s licence and criminal

● Understand the vision of Antigonight and assist in shaping it with the event committee, staff, and Artistic Director

● Participate in team visioning and delegation of creative programming and promotion throughout the summer

● Work with and supervise staff in promotional summer programming [in-person & online]
● Solicit volunteers and oversee volunteer event committees, including security and venue management, artistic direction, publicity and program
● Manage the event budget (with treasurer) and coordinate fundraising activities and in-kind contributions Establish event schedule in collaboration with Artistic Director’s vision
● Respond to and engage with artists, arrange for artist contracts, and oversee artist needs such as venue arrangements, lighting and project specifics, accommodations [must be in-person festival weekend].

● Promote event using variety of channels including social media draft plan, final plan respectful of possible funding flux to be presented to ACA board)

● Complete timely reports for supervising boards and funders-post festival
