Bechtel has been appointed as the Delivery Partner, supporting our customer Metrolinx as part of an integrated team, to help deliver the signature Ontario Line Subway (OLS) Project, a transformational transit project for the Greater Toronto Area. The multi-billion-dollar project scope includes the design build, operations and maintenance of all infrastructure and rail systems associated with 15 stations and over 15km of new alignment, being performed by three key Public/Private Partnership (P3) Contractors and multiple advanced/early works contractors. 
Position Summary
The Don Valley Crossing (DVC) includes a varied and challenging scope of works including two unique formwork traveler segmental bridges, one SOE, one cast in place underpass and also slope stabilization in 5 locations . Alongside broad technical competence, the successful candidate will require excellent oral and written communication skills. A key aspect of this role will be to leverage expertise within the integrated project team to bring appropriate insight to the planning for the construction phase of the project It is envisaged that the role will transition to field oversight of an area of the works once the construction phase of the project commences in Summer 2024.
Responsibilities
-Collaborate with the integrated project team, including but not limited to Technical Authority, and provide constructability feedback and input, either directly or through consultation with discipline specialists.
-Facilitate the inclusion of appropriate lessons learnt into the development of the contract work packages.
-Provide input to schedule preparation and monitor/report progress against schedule.
-Assist in defining work package breakdown and definition of interfaces and identification of gaps.
-Monitor the activities of contractors to ensure compliance with ES&H, quality requirements & project technical requirements. Undertake site inspection duties.
-Monitor contractor progress – prepare and process periodic progress estimates/ reports.
-Coordinates and resolves engineering or construction problems in collaboration with the project technical authority. Assist in the review of technical submittals (drawings and other documents submitted by vendors.)
-Organize, facilitate-participate, and provide input in project meetings. Communicate with other project stakeholders and prepare meeting notes/ project memorandums/presentations/status reports/ as appropriate.
-Facilitate in field measurements and quantity take off as the input into the monthly payment report.
 
Qualifications and Skills
Basic Qualifications
-Degree/ diploma in engineering or equivalent. Professional designation is an asset.
-5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience of which 5minimum should be in similar roles relating to infrastructure, transit, and heavy structural project
 
Additional Qualifications
-Superior oral and written communication skills in English
-Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc.)
