About Our Opportunity
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Finance and HR Officer to join our team at King’s-Edgehill School. This position will report to the Director, Finance and Operations with a strong linkage requiring day-to-day collaboration and support to the Director, HR and Diversity. As the Finance and HR Officer, you will be responsible for coordinating, managing, and executing multiple financial and HR administrative priorities essential to the School’s operations.
Primary responsibilities:
- Organizes and manage the accounts payable process including receiving and verifying invoices, processing payments, charging of departmental accounts, and maintaining an efficient filing system.
- Manages the petty cash fund including distributions, record keeping and maintenance, and monthly reconciliation.
- Liaises with school trip administration staff, providing budgeting and trip financial planning support.
- Reviews and administers staff reimbursements.
- Liaises with staff and manages the fund allocation and billing process for various school events and initiatives.
- Completes full payroll processing for all employees on a bi-weekly basis using Easypay.
- Ensures all necessary pay and status changes are administered and employee files and records, government remittances, ROE’s, T4’s, T4A’s, and any other reporting requirements are up to date.
- Prepares annual tax receipts for staff and parents.
- Assists staff with the use of the online payslip portal (Easystub).
- Coordinates benefit and pension changes, to ensure staff are enrolled in the applicable plans.
- Manages pension plan monthly remittance process.
- Provides coverage for other Finance and HR administrative functions, as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Post-secondary education in finance, accounting, payroll, or office administration preferred.
- Minimum 1 - 3 years experience in a similar multifunctional role considered an asset.
- High level of speed and accuracy with data entry and excellent attention to detail Highly organized and reliable.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a busy team environment and provide excellent internal service.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong Excel skills and familiar with Microsoft products.
- Software proficiency with the ability to learn new systems efficiently.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
