SalaryFinance Assistant
As a Finance Assistant, you will be an integral part of our finance team, supporting various financial activities essential to the functioning of the school district. Your role will involve assisting with budget management, financial reporting, invoice processing, and general accounting tasks. You will work closely with our Finance Managers and other team members to uphold the financial integrity of the school district.
Assignment: Temporary to June 2025. This position is Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm and will continue through summer months.
Location : District Administration Centre, Nanaimo, with potential for work from home option
Wage : $32.22 per/hr.
Your Education and Experience
High School graduation or the equivalent
Completion of a two year Business Diploma with a specialization in accounting plus five years experience in an accounting role or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Minimum keyboarding speeds of 200 cspm and 50 cwpm.
Strong demonstrated computer skills including advanced spreadsheets and importing/exporting files to/from other sources.
Ability and aptitude to work with detail, precision, speed and accuracy and work effectively under pressure, high volumes and tight timelines.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service and teamwork skills.
