Description

The Finance Coordinator manages the accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, bookkeeping, payroll and benefits, processes and procedures.  The incumbent is responsible for organizing and coordinating financial operations and procedures in order to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles especially as they relate to non-profit organizations
Knowledge of federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations
Knowledge of payroll process and procedures
Able to maintain confidentiality
Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Self starter
Strong problem solving skills using integrated and complex reasoning
Results and outcomes focused
Flexible - able to move and change as circumstances warrant
Purposeful - able to deliver purposeful activities - always having a reason for any action
Proficiency in:
o Microsoft Office Business Edition including Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and PowerPoint
o Familiarity with or willingness to learn visual basic programming for Excel
o Quickbooks Accounting Software
o Banking/credit card systems and various other on-line web applications
