Financial Analyst

Our company: For over 80 years and four generations, our family has been inspired by forests and the endless possibilities for designing and building with wood. From seedlings to solutions, we see our products through the entire process — from forest management to manufacturing, design, prefabrication, and delivery. Role and Objectives: The Financial Analyst, under the direction of the CFO, is responsible for providing analysis, financial/cost accounting and reporting while identifying areas for improvement. Responsibilities: Monitoring and analyzing budget variances. Cost analysis and reporting Review, analyze and report on inventory valuation, raw materials, WIP, direct and indirect labor, overhead costs, and related variances. Ensure proper financial controls are in place to minimize risk. Responsible for any ad-hoc reports including the tracking of key trends on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis, and capital spending initiatives. Assist in the ongoing development, data accumulation and reporting of Key Performance Indicators required for decision making and achieving the Company’s Strategic Goals. Assist in preparation of month end reporting and quarterly reporting. Analyze various P&L line items to identify associated impact of short-term and long-term goals of the site and organization. Supporting the annual operating budget and capital budget and financial forecasting process Support year-end audit and reporting. Preparing, analyzing, and summarizing a wide variety of financial information. Assisting departments in administering their financial planning, budget and forecasting activities. Identify opportunities to enhance margins and improve working capital. Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or Commerce Minimum 2 years of work experience in finance, ideally with a manufacturing background Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Strong interpersonal and customer service skills A professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA) is preferred. Strong financial data analysis skills Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and relevant accounting software Experience working within an ERP System considered an asset. Ability to provide financial advice and guidance to non-financial departments or teams. Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment. Working Conditions Overtime as required. Occasional exposure to dust, noise, and fumes. Desk work, with interruptions and an expectation of ability to refocus quickly. Constant finger dexterity and ability to hear, and talk, and possess depth perception. Compensation Package: Salary: 75,000.00 – 100,000.00.
