Job description

Adecco is seeking an experienced Financial Controller for a temporary position with a well-established organization in Windsor, NS.   • Shifts: Monday to Friday; 40 hours/week

Duties and Responsibilities:
Year-End and Month-End Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

  • Oversee the year-end and month-end closing processes.

  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Collaborate with department heads to develop budgets and forecasts.

  • Monitor budgetary performance and provide recommendations for improvement.

  • Conduct financial modeling and scenario analysis.

Internal Controls:

  • Establish and maintain internal control policies and procedures.

  • Monitor compliance with established controls and recommend improvements as needed.

Tax Compliance:

  • Coordinate and oversee the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.

  • Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations.

Cash Management:

  • Manage cash flow, including forecasting and optimizing working capital.

  • Implement strategies to enhance cash management efficiency.

Financial Systems and Process Improvement:

  • Evaluate and enhance financial systems to support evolving business needs.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Audit Coordination:

  • Liaise with external auditors and facilitate the annual audit process.

  • Ensure timely completion of audit requirements.

Requirements and Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) required.

  • 2 -3 years of progressive experience in financial roles.

  • Proven experience in year-end and month-end financial reporting.

  • Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to lead and develop a finance team.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to think strategically and contribute to business decisions.

  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
