The opportunity
We are seeking to fill a Financial Services Officer position, at Level 1 or Level 2, depending on your education and experience. We encourage all those with financial and accounting experience and a desire to learn and develop within a collaborative team to apply.
The Financial Services Officer supports the financial operations of NS Pension and its clients. Core responsibilities include cash management, vendor payment, pension contribution receipt and refund, financial reporting and analysis, and Canada Revenue Agency reporting.
What you need to be successful
- Grade 12 and two years' post-secondary professional accounting training, plus three years of related accounting or financial experience, or an acceptable equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Working knowledge of Canadian GAAP and ability to apply IFRS and ASPE accounting standards.
- Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Completion, or enrolment in, a formal accounting designation program is an asset (e.g. CPA).
