Position Summary :
The Food and Beverage Supervisor enjoys leading a team of Hospitality Professionals whose primary goal is to create fun and memorable experiences for our guests. The Supervisor plays a role in developing and executing department strategies to grow the business. Leading by example, the Supervisor shows others the way with a positive can-do attitude. The Food & Beverage Supervisor reports to the Food & Beverage Manager. This position is a developing role within the department and part of the succession plan process of the Manager position.
This position will play a lead role in the ongoing success of the Food and Beverage Operation at Casino Nova Scotia Sydney. The ideal candidate would be someone who could be groomed to take on a more advanced role, with succession planning being a key determinant of the candidate.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provides outstanding guest service.
- Respects and supports colleagues as a team leader.
- Guides the team to success with ongoing training, coaching and feedback.
- Develops and supports the Food & Beverage department strategic plans.
- Ensures health, safety and wellness are a focus by working to prevent accidents.
- Communicates effectively with all departments.
- Anticipates service issues, solves problems, and performs guest recovery.
- Complete departmental inventories as required.
- Scheduling and productivity.
- Leads a team that cares about the business and delivers great guest experiences.
- Completes daily/ weekly reports.
- Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations.
- Maintains the integrity of the Casino by adhering to Responsible Beverage Service.
- Performs other duties as assigned or directed. to Responsible Beverage Service; makes and communicates removal or restriction decisions

Education & Qualification Requirements
- 2 years’ Food & Beverage experience
- Previous supervisory experience an asset
- Post-Secondary education in hospitality or suitable training/experience an asset.
- Responsible Beverage Service certification an asset.
- Computer literacy in MS Office, POS, and others an asset.
Working Environment Considerations:
Regular casino, restaurant or office environment, standing or walking for long periods of time, some exposure to noise and conflict, non-traditional work hours.

Licensing & Certification Requirements:
Employment is dependent upon application and continued gaming licensing from the Nova Scotia Alcohol & Gaming Division
