D U T I E S
The Specialist is responsible for overseeing and improving food related process and services at
RRC Polytech. This role will guide development of process and procedures related to food and
beverage services on our campuses.
They will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure the related food and beverage
services are supporting the Ancillary Service, Finance & Admin and RRC Polytech initiatives and
vendor partners are adequately serving the community needs.
- Diploma in Business, Hospitality, or other related specializations from an accredited institution.
Or a combination of other education and several years relevant work experience in a
leadership role
- Several years experience in a formal operational leadership role within a business or food and
- Working knowledge of the business operations and the foundational factors that ensure
- Excellent interpersonal skills required to communicate effectively and professionally with and
- Ability to think critically and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent presentation skills to keep all prospective food and beverage service community
members informed while also striving for operational improvements that provide benefit to
stakeholders
- Ability to learn new technologies and to use them to provide efficient process improvement
- Exceptional conflict resolution skills and ability to conduct themselves professionally in stressful
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a group setting
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to prepare and deliver reports, correspond in
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and
continuous improvement
- Experience with food & beverage service in Post Secondary Education, Hospitality or
- Working knowledge of technology commonly found in the food and beverage industries as well
as operational and administrative technologies found in mid to large sized organizations
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
- This position may be required to work overtime
- This position may be required to travel
- Incumbent must hold a valid class 5 driver`s license
- May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses
