The Opportunity -Forestry Manager

Reporting to the General Manager Woodlands, the Forestry Manager, as part of the Sinclar Group Woodlands team and team leader of the forest planning group, will have a strategic focus on long term fibre supply for the Sinclar Group. In this role, you will oversee current and future tenure agreements, foster First Nations and community relations including benefits and partnership agreements, be responsible for financial analysis of respective fibre supply plans and agreements. The woodlands team arranges fibre supply for Lakeland Mills in Prince George, Apollo Forest Products in Fort St. James and Nechako Lumber in Vanderhoof.

With demonstrated professionalism and a steadfast commitment to safety as a priority, you are detail oriented and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. An experienced forestry professional, you deliver business results under pressure, influence and build relationships, communicate effectively and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.

As the successful candidate, you are a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or Registered Forest Technologist (RFT) with the Association of BC Forest Professionals (ABCFP). Ideally, you will have at least 10 years of well- rounded forestry background with field operational experience; demonstrated supervisory and management skills and a keen appetite for career development, personal growth and achievement.

This position can be based in any of the communities in which we operate, and you must possess valid driver’s license and be willing to travel between the various operations.
