Job Summary:
Reporting directly to the Business Manager, the incumbent is responsible for providing a high level of friendly, efficient customer service through the provision of information and special services to enhance the lives of the residents and their guests.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responds to requests for information and assistance from residents, families, visitors and addresses their concerns/complaints.
Continuously monitors video surveillance equipment and, where applicable, resident electronic check-in system.
Ensures the smooth and effective operation of main entrance and exit points ensuring a safe, warm and courteous experience for residents and guests.
Ensures that residents, staff and guests complete sign-in/out records.
Creates documents such as menus, flyers, postings, etc.
Arranges the necessary details and staff support for conferences and parties for external groups as required; arranges travel and transportation for residents where necessary.
Performs procedures for reconciliation of resident meal census/daily census.
Attends staff meetings and mandatory training, as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Ability to work with people who may have physical disabilities or cognitive impairments.
Understand and maintain confidentiality.
Education & Skills:
High school graduate with some post-secondary education in tourism or hospitality management is an asset.
Previous office/reception experience; attention to detail with solid organizational skills.
Strong knowledge or local community, area and region.
Advanced computer proficiency in Microsoft applications.
Strong English communication skills, both oral and written.
Working Environment, Special Skills and Physical Job Requirements:
Working in an office environment.
Flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Operation of desktop computer and peripherals for at least 3 hours per day.
Site for periods of up to 3 hours per day.
Occasionally lift alone up to 35lbs.
Hectic, noisy environment with constant interruptions.
Exposure to variable temperatures.
