We are looking for a positive, reliable and friendly Front of House Cashier at our family run Country Market.
We are looking for a Cashier to manage all transactions with customers accurately and efficiently.
Cashier responsibilities include receiving payments and issuing receipts, gift-wrapping packages and keeping track of all cash and credit transactions. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience in a customer service position and good knowledge of how cash registers operate. Although no previous experience is necessary as we do provide training. You should also be available to cover some weekday shifts occasionally but mainly weekend and holiday shifts.
Ultimately, you’ll ensure all transactions run smoothly and will help us maximize customer satisfaction.```Responsibilities```
- Greet customers and provide them with a warm welcome.
- Take customer orders and process payments using cash handling procedures
-Scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate
-Collect payments whether in cash or credit
-Issue receipts, refunds, change or tickets
-Redeem stamps and coupons
-Cross-sell products and introduce new ones
-Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
-Greet customers when entering or leaving the store
-Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
-Track transactions on balance sheets and report any discrepancies
-Bag, box or gift-wrap packages
-Handle merchandise returns and exchanges
-Communicate with our bakery and cafe staff, ensuring communication is you main priority. I.e stock is low.
```Requirements```
-Work experience as a Retail Cashier or in a similar role in sales although not necessary.
-Basic PC knowledge
-Independently CLOSING AND OPENING the store.
-Cashing out the till with complete accuracy.
-Familiarity with electronic equipment, like cash register and POS
-Good math skills
-Strong communication and time management skills
-Customer satisfaction-oriented
-High school degree
-Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds
IMPORTANT NOTE.
Please Note that we are small business, and at times you may be required to help in different areas of the company, this could mean helping serve customers at our brand new cafe, helping keeping our greenhouse up to quality standards, or packing baked goods in our kitchen area, we are looking for a candidate with great initiative, very trustworthy and just overall positive attitude who is always available to help and wants to learn.
