SalarySonic Milling has a patented technology that allows it to make outstanding Oat Based beverages. We are seeking a Food Safety Quality Assurance Manager to join our Saskatoon team. The successful candidate will have the very unique opportunity to help SMS develop its FSQA and Product Innovation Programs while also leading the business through BRC Certification. With plans for expansion, the successful candidate will be leaned upon to help design and successfully start-up a plant that ensures safe, wholesome products that consistently please our customers.

Responsibilities
o Lead the development and implementation of HACCP and Food Safety Management Programs.
o Oversee verification and monitoring of the FSQA, HACCP, GMP and Quality Assurance plans.
o Achieve and Sustain BRC (or like) Certification.
o Development of FSQA KPIs and Creation/Implementation of product quality reports.
o Lead audit preparation and traceability exercises.
o Lead the creation, implementation, and monitoring of Environmental Monitoring Programs
o Assist and Provide guidance to Production as required regarding food safety and quality concerns.
o Develop and Lead Mock Recall program.
o Stay current on CFIA, USDA and other FSQA regulations and guidelines.
Qualifications
o A degree/diploma in a Science related discipline (Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biological, Food Science, Biotechnology) or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education.
o Knowledge/experience of HACCP, GMP is required.
o Knowledge/experience with CFIA, SFCR and USDA is considered an asset
o Knowledge/experience of GFSI Standards is considered an asset (BRC, SQF, FSSC 22000)
o Pre-exposure to laboratory tools and equipment
o Ability to work independently.
o Ability to work under pressure and time constraints.
o Experience in the creation and development of SOPs and record management.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $105,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
