The Opportunity
4 month term: May - August 2024
What will you do at Ciena?
As a Full-Stack Intern Application Developer, you will observe, learn and support the development & configuration of custom applications (using C#, .net core, vb .net etc.) in Microsoft Azure cloud (IaaS and PaaS). You will be working closely with our business users and the Agile development team to deliver IT solutions. Our interns are expected to appreciate a team environment, and exhibit willingness and eagerness to learn, participate and contribute.
Major Responsibilities
- Learn, support and enhance the existing applications and APIs (non-cloud, C#, .net core, vb .net, SQL, etc.) and also migrate them (where possible) to custom cloud technologies on Microsoft Azure.
- Configure various components in order management automation process using Microsoft Azure AI Document Intelligence/Form Recognizer service.
- Understand Sinequa search platform and Assist with configuration operations.
- Become familiar with the application support and troubleshooting procedures, and help resolve any security vulnerability issues in software code.
Skill Exposure and Experience:
- This opportunity will expose you to front-end, middle tier and back-end development using an industry standard development platform (C#, .net Core, vb .net, Angular, HTML, Javascript, Transact SQL, Azure cloud, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server Database Backend development (Transact SQL, SSIS, SSRS)
- Exposure to Agile development process along with secure DevOps pipelines.
Required Education:
- Candidate must be working on a bachelor's (or higher) degree in Computer Sciences or related field
- Candidate must have demonstrated technical ability through projects and curriculum.
