Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager, Administrative Services, with accountability to the Manager of Employment Services, the incumbent is responsible for the preparation, maintenance, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of financial information related to operational budgets, funding agencies, and external organizations. The incumbent ensures that the appropriate financial controls and processes are consistent with college policies and in compliance with external contracts. This position is key to ensuring the timeliness, accuracy, completeness and reliability of financial information provided to Finance, the Dean, management team and external decision makers.
The incumbent provides analytical assistance in various activities and prepares financial and operational reports to ensure that the manager(s) and management team can make informed decisions. The incumbent’s role is critical in the coordination and development of both the Administrative and Employment Services Departments annual budgets, quarterly reviews and the College’s financial year-end processes. The incumbent oversees the day-to-day administrative and financial operations and acts as a financial consultant to all areas within Administrative Services, Facilities, Employment Services and any applicable Government contracts.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of three (3) year diploma/degree in Business Administration or Accounting, or equivalent;
  • Minimum of five (5) years related experience in budgetary/finance related positions with increasing responsibilities in administrative areas where accounting, computer, including advanced Excel skills, administrative and interpersonal skills were utilized;
  • Experience in preparing and forecasting budgets, monitoring revenue and expenses, providing detailed ad hoc ongoing analyses and seeking efficiencies;
  • Experience dealing directly or indirectly with external stakeholders;
  • Experience with financial reporting, projections, developing annual budgets, quarterly reviews and reconciliations.
