This Director of Service will report directly to the Executive Director. In alignment with Willowbridge’s vision, mission, values, and strategic direction, this position assumes a pivotal role in leading and overseeing programs that assist individuals with developmental disabilities and Willowbridge’s counseling services. This position entails strategic leadership with a vision to the future of service delivery, the supervision of program managers, and to fostering collaboration with both internal and external community partners to guarantee the provision of top-tier services.

About The Role:

  • – Actively engage as an integral member of the leadership team based on principles of service excellence, inclusion, openness, and integrity.
  • – Directly supervise and guide Willowbridge’s service managers, facilitating growth, accountability, service excellence, and individual and team goals in alignment with our strategic objectives.
  • – Set high-level objectives for Clinical and Developmental Services to steer the organization and all programming to align with Willowbridge’s strategic priorities.
  • – Share responsibility with, and provide support to, the Executive Director in the effective management and future planning of strategic leadership, service operations, business operations, setting and enforcing standards, risk-management, policy compliance, succession planning, budgeting, human resource and financial planning, and continuous quality improvements.
  • – Collaborate with the management team and the Executive Director to formulate, execute, and monitor an innovative operating plan aligned with our Strategic Objectives.
  • – Identify, develop, implement, and evaluate business plans for social enterprise opportunities and drive new initiatives and change within the organization. Ensure staff alignment with innovation.
  • – Establish strong, sustainable partnerships with participants, funders, professional networks, corporations, allied community agencies, and the community. This includes actively sitting on community committees and working groups.
  • – Stay abreast of changes to funder, legislative, and regulatory frameworks, adapting strategies to maximize opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • – Foster a positive workplace culture that promotes the wellbeing of all staff and program participants. Support workplace performance culture, where employees share a strong sense of purpose, feel aligned with our core values, are accountable to their Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), are productive, and are motivated to meet and exceed goals.
  • – Identify and eliminate barriers to achieving service excellence.
  • – Manage financial resources collaboratively with the Executive Director and Finance Department to ensure organizational viability and growth is aligned with strategic objectives.
  • – Facilitate integration across functions, disciplines, and professions throughout Willowbridge.
  • – Develop a skilled, resilient management team and ensure succession planning for key positions.

What We’re Looking For:

  • – Master’s degree in social work, developmental or behaviour services, social services, psychotherapy, business administration or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • – Professional registration with an accredited body is preferred.
  • – Minimum 8 years’ experience with 5 years related supervisory / managerial experience within the social services sector preferred.
  • – Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of developmental and counselling services.
  • – Understanding and experience with social enterprise and business planning.
  • – Experience with successful grant and proposal writing.
  • – Knowledge and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • – Managerial and team building skills to ensure effective utilization of all assigned human, physical and financial resources.
  • – Understanding of service delivery systems in the not-for-profit sector.
  • – Understanding and proficiency in budgeting and business administration.
  • – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • – Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • – Strategic thinking and problem resolution
