Full-Time Secretary

Northern Gateway Public Schools invites applications for a Full-time (1.0 FTE) Secretary at Hillside Junior Senior High School
Successful candidate responsibilities:
Be an ambassador for Hillside Junior Senior High School
Provide friendly reception to school visitors, staff and students
Provide efficient and professional administrative support to the administrative team and the school
Work fluently in PowerSchool Database, PASI, and My PASS (i.e. Scheduling/Timetabling, Student demographics, attendance, marks, etc.)
Organize and accurately maintain filing system of confidential information
Plan and schedule meetings for administrative team
Provide logistics for staff absences including substitute bookings and reconciliations in SRB
Provide clerical duties as required including managing a high volume of calls and emails
Successful candidate requirements/assets:
Office Assistant Program, preferred
Communications/Marketing/Public Relations courses, preferred
Previous receptionist experience, preferredOffice related computing/technology courses
Working knowledge and skill in Microsoft Suite use of Excel, Word, Publisher
Working knowledge and skill in Google Suite
Superior interpersonal skills with a team orientation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and efficiency
Well-developed organizational and administrative skills
Demonstrates initiative and problem-solving skills
Excellent ability to manage work load in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to work cooperatively with different groups – staff, students, parents, public
Strong creative and analytical skills
Hours or work:
Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm – 37.5 hours per week
Wage Rate:
$18.23/hour - $29.10/hour depending on qualifications and experience
Start Date:
Duties will commence August 19, 2024
