seeking full-time Apprentice

Pattison Funeral Home and Crematorium in Medicine Hat, Alberta is family owned and operated and has an opening for an individual interested in the Funeral Director/ Embalmer Apprenticeship program.

The successful candidate shall have the following qualifications:

- must possess a strong work ethic.

- a keen interest in people and the funeral Profession.

- be self motivated with the ability to work effectively, independently and cooperatively as part of a team.

- have strong organizational skills, be able to multi task and have good time management.

- be committed to a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

- be dedicated to the completion of the two year Funeral Director/Embalmer Licensor Program.

The successful candidate will also be required to:

- have a valid driver’s license with proof of a clean abstract.

- provide a current criminal background check.

- be an integral part of the 24 hour on call schedule including evenings and weekends as required by the schedule rotation.

- show professional appearance and demeanor in every aspect of the job.

- have a good understanding of and are able to communicate with clarity, using the English language.

- Physical stamina to handle heavy lifting and physical demands associated with the preparation of the deceased
