About this role:

An Apprentice Funeral Director and Embalmer at Westlawn Funeral Home & Cemetery will have the opportunity to provide meaningful support to families on their end-of -life journey by overseeing and directing all aspects of funeral services under the direction of the Funeral Home Manager and Senior Funeral Director, including: filing death certificates, maintaining online obituary listings, performing decedent embalming and providing assistance during the execution of funeral services.

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Key Qualifications and Demonstrated Abilities:

• Currently enrolled or recently graduated from an accredited Funeral Service Program
• Passion for customer care demonstrated in previous professional experiences.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and consistently high level of accuracy.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated strong customer service skills with the ability to partner will all levels of the organization.
• Exemplifies Arbor’s values of compassion, integrity, trust, teamwork, belonging and excellence.
• Excellent knowledge of Funeral Home procedures and business practices including Funeral Home Procedures Manuals.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities:

• Arranges, coordinates and directs funeral ceremonies.
• Decedent Care and Embalming.
• Meets and surpasses the needs and expectations of the families we serve.
• Supports licensed Funeral Directors in providing funeral services to client families.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Salary: From $48,000.00 per year
