Garage Door Installer

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Garage Door Installation Manager, the Garage Door Installer for our client in Kitchener, ON, is responsible for installing overhead Garage Doors. The role requires an understanding of mechanical systems, excellent attention to detail, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and comfort working at heights. A background in construction, carpentry, or a related field benefits this role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Install and assemble Garage Doors, openers, and related components according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.

• Diagnose and repair issues with existing Garage Doors, including but not limited to spring replacements, cable adjustments, and sensor troubleshooting.

• Interact professionally with clients to explain installation or repair processes, answer questions, and ensure customer satisfaction.

• Conduct thorough quality checks on completed installations to ensure safety, functionality, and adherence to company standards.

• Efficiently and safely handle various materials, tools, and equipment required for Garage Door installation and repair.

• Complete accurate and detailed paperwork, including job reports and invoices, to maintain proper records of installations and repairs.

• Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and your colleagues.

• Collaborate with other team members, including project managers and fellow installers, to ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion.

Skills:

• 2-3 years of previous experience in Garage Door installation, construction.

• Ability to lift 60lbs minimum, climb ladders, work at heights, and work in various weather conditions.

• A valid G driver's license and clean driving record are required. Travel to and from client locations is a requirment of the role.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to use hand and power tools effectively.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with clients and addressing their concerns.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to think on your feet to overcome challenges during installations or repairs.

• Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate installations and repairs.

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in construction, carpentry, or a related field is a plus.
