Garden Center Associate

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic greenhouse worker. The idea candidate is someone who has experience with maintaining plants and has great customer service skills! Hours are flexible and full-time work can be discussed if interested!

Hours of shifts will be between 8 am to 5pm. Some short shifts are also available.

Position Requirements:

• Experience with upkeep and maintenance of plants (i.e., watering, trimming, proper potting, fertilizing)
• Able to lift heavy objects (i.e., plants, soil, etc.) from 30-50lbs
• Able to manage yourself while on the job
• Reliable transportation
• Weekend and occasional statutory holidays
• Willingness to work outside
• Ability to stand on your feet, (standing and walking as well as repeated bending and lifting.
• Greenhouse experience an asset
• Retails sales experience is an asset

General Responsibilities:

• Maintenance and upkeep of the plants in the NuScape Store (i.e., watering, repotting, fertilizing, etc.)
• Organizing orders for customers that come in from our online store
• Providing excellent customer service to those who come to shop or pick up their orders
• Handling payments for in-person shopping using Point of Sale (POS)
• Advising customers of plants and other products at the NuScape Store
• Working with colleagues to maintain stock and ensure it is well watered and pest free.
• Set-up attractive merchandising displays with appropriate signage
• Ensure greenhouse is cleaned on a regular basis
• Ensure plant product is priced appropriately
• perform other various tasks assigned by the greenhouse manager(s)

Salary: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 36 per week
