SalaryWe are seeking a Property Accountant to join our team. This critical role supports our Accounting team. As a Property Accountant, you must be a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Your responsibilities will include full cycle accounting for the residential portfolio, assisting with the commercial portfolio, providing financial statements, and assisting with other administrative duties as required.
Key Accountabilities:
- Manage full-cycle accounting for residential portfolio, including A/P, A/R, and GL management;
- Perform monthly analysis of revenues and expenses to identify trends and areas for improvement;
- Prepare monthly property P&L's with detailed commentary and analysis;
- Reconcile residential GL accounts and properties on a monthly basis;
- Conduct regular reviews of accounts receivable and manage bad debt recovery process;
- Monitor and report on vacancy rates and collaborate with leasing team to ensure optimal occupancy levels;
- Prepare comprehensive working papers for annual audits of all residential properties;
- Support other administrative tasks as needed, such as filing, data entry, and correspondence.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in full-cycle Residential accounting
- Experience with Yardi Voyager would be an asset
- Experience in real estate would be an asset
- Strong knowledge of basic accounting practices
- Expertise in property budgets and financial analysis
- Proficient in planning, organization, and ability to meet deadlines
- Proven ability to identify, evaluate and develop new ideas with proven results
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong technical skills including MS Office
Location: 8501 Mississauga Rd, Brampton, ON L6Y 5G8
Schedule: On-Site,Monday to Friday 9 AM to 5 PM fully on-site
Compensation: 65k base salary + up to 20% performance bonus
