What will you be doing in the General Labor position?
As a General Labor, you will work with the production team for material feeding or tailing off Moulders and Prime lines. This position will report directly to the Production Supervisor and is a member of the Metrie Manufacturing team. The role will be based out of our Calgary, AB facility.
At a high-level, you will:
- Feed raw material into the moulders or grades finished moulding.
- Stacking bundles ranging from 7 feet to 16 feet which can be in the range of 5- 50lbs.
- Apply tie strips and keeps track of the number of boards in each unit.
- Checks for quality and must be quality conscious. May be needed to assist in packaging.
- Employee needs to keep work area clean and clean when line is down (sweeping, picking up debris & disposing of debris).
- Must be safety conscious at all times.
- May be assigned additional work duties as needed.
Available Shift: Monday to Thursday 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM (10 Hrs).

- Understand the importance of health and safety at work and can follow instructions.
Physical Demands
- Frequent: Walking.
- Occasional: Standing in the same location.
- Constant: Standing.
- Lifting: Floor to waist, waist to floor up to 50lbs.
- Pushing / Pulling: Frequent when relocating production carts.
- Twisting: Continuous twisting with stacking
- Squatting/ Kneeling: Frequently squatting to clean debris off the floor.
- Hand to eye coordination and dexterity: Picking, pinching, holding, grasping, and repetitive rotation.
