General Laborer

We are a small manufacturing company that operates locally. Our primary focus is on the production of line heaters, heat exchangers, reboilers, separators, glycol dehydration packages, and other oil and gas process equipment.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Laborer to join our team. The successful candidate will perform laboring activities and assist tradespersons with tasks such as gathering material, cleaning up/organizing site/yard, loading, unloading, lifting, moving materials/equipment and painting.

Hours of work would be Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

What will you do?

• Use various machines including overhead cranes, forklifts, saws for cutting, drills, grinders, and a number of other tools.
• Operate and care for equipment, machines, and tools.
• Assist pipefitters, welders, painters, and other departments in performing their duties.
  
• Load and unload materials and move materials to work area.
  
• Maintain clean and safe work areas in the shop and yard.
• Painting, sandblasting, finishing.
  
• Light mechanical.
• Follow instructions/safe work practices/policies from Lead Hands and Foreman.
• Effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
  
• Attend daily toolbox meetings.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

What do you need?

• Previous experience working in an manufacturing environment.
• Class 5 drivers license
• Familiarity with metals and metal fabricating equipment would be an asset.
• Basic mathematical skills and able to use a tape measure.
• Attention to detail and accuracy including the ability to follow detailed instruction.
• Able to work independently and work efficiently in a fast-paced teamwork environment.
  
• Must be physically fit and able to do manual labor
• Reliable with a good attendance record
• Self-motivated, strong willingness to learn, listen, follow instructions, and ask for help when necessary
• Lift up to 50 lbs
