General Labour- Light Assembly

The General Labourer- Light Assembly will be responsible for cutting, drilling, de-burring, sanding and gluing various aluminum struts and sheet aluminum Earth Station Antenna components using hand and small power tools.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Use of hand pneumatic tools such as drills, saws, die grinders and sanding equipment to manufacture earth station aluminum reflector panels, stiffening ribs and support struts.
• Use of pneumatic rivet guns and monobolt guns.
• Apply structural adhesive to support struts and other stiffening components.
• Complete required job control, inventory, and related reports (example: timecards).
• Maintain assigned work area and equipment in a safe and professional manner.
• Maintain and adhere to all company policies and procedures
• Perform all duties in accordance with health and safety safe work requirements.
• Perform maintenance on machinery used to position, or clean components.
• Use lifting equipment and forklift trucks
• Any other related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Completion of Secondary School diploma
• Post-Secondary Education within a Trade or Technical background is an asset
• 2-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with mechanical and assembly experience
• Mathematically inclined and able to take measurements
• Ability to understand mechanical blueprints and other technical drawings.
• Ability to follow instructions
• Ability to work with structural adhesives
• Excellent time management skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail
• Ability to work in isolation or with a team
• Ability to concentrate while performing repetitive tasks.
• Willingness to extend knowledge and ability in the role
• Required to wear a respirator

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Employee may be required to work in potentially hazardous environments requiring protective equipment.
• Employee may be exposed to dust, hazardous chemicals, and high levels of noise.
• Employee may be exposed to uncomfortable work settings; may have long combinations of standing, crouching, or sitting.
• Repetitive tasks within a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Overtime as required.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• 0-5% - May be required between locations
