Blue Feather Communications is a fast-growing maintenance and construction contractor looking to add a General Labourer to our team.
The chosen candidate will work under the supervision of the Lead Hand and will assist the civil team with the installation of telecommunications infrastructure (buried cable, wire, or ducts) for various projects.

Duties and Responsibilities include and not limited to:
- Digging holes and trenches
- Pulling cable
- Operating equipment and tools
- General site preparation and clean-up as directed
- Complete the Driver's daily pre-trip, en-route and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Complete the Driver's log book, accident or incident reports
- Handle and distribute construction materials, as well as safely loading and unloading vehicles with supplies and equipment as directed
- Able to read construction plans
- Able to run gas and power equipment (i.e. saws, drills, jumping jacks)
- Able to assess work environment for potential health and safety hazards•Removal of all debris from work sites
- Assist with traffic control as directed
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or relevant experience
- 1-2 years of related experience in the construction industry
- Good verbal communication skills and ability to work with others
- Must be able to lift 23 kg (50 lbs) safely
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English
- Demonstrated commitment to health and safety and willing to receive applicable health and safety training as per legislative and job requirements
- Ability to follow instructions
- Must be able to work in restricted and tight spaces and at heights
- Must have a valid G Driver's License or equivalent with a clean driver's abstract
- Must be able to provide a clear criminal record check
Physical Demands
The candidate must be able to perform the physical demands of the position's work tasks. These include but are not limited to working outdoors in all weather conditions, in confined spaces, moving equipment and/or materials, frequently climbing ladders, and frequently lifting and pulling telecommunication cables in excess of 15 lbs. Attention to detail is required. The candidate will be required to stand for extended periods of time. All employees will be required to receive applicable health and safety training on an ongoing basis as per legislative and job requirements.
