General Labourer

Fort Garry Fire Trucks Rubber Division has been proud to support our customers in a wide variety of industries including food processing, paper converting, print, package handling, plastics, metal, agriculture, and mining since 1919. Fort Garry Fire Trucks Rubber Division is looking to hire a full time General Labourer. As a General Labourer in the Rubber Division, you will be part of the team responsible for completing manufactured rubber products.

Responsibilities and Duties Include:

• Completing rubber work after the work is laid out by the supervisor or senior employee
• Working with several types of machinery
• Using basic power and hand tools
• Cleaning up work area
• Assisting with additional duties as assigned

Applicant Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
• Fluent spoken and written English and good interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds individually or 100 pounds with assistance
• Experience reading basic drawings and interpreting the data to select suitable material types
• Experience verifying dimensions using measuring instruments (tape measures, rulers, framing and T-squares) for layouts
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Reliable transportation: bussing is not available at our location

Salary: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
